Man facing accusations of drunk driving in Tennessee
After having a night out with friends, blowing off steam after work or even a rough morning, many individuals may start their drive home. Of course, these outings may have involved consuming alcohol, and if an individual gets behind the wheel afterward, there is a chance that he or she could face charges for drunk driving. Even if the person does not feel impaired, authorities may think differently.
One man in Tennessee is currently facing criminal charges for allegedly driving under the influence. Reports stated that the 56-year-old man was traveling south in northbound lanes of traffic, and authorities received several calls regarding the man’s allegedly erratic driving. As a result, authorities located the man and stopped his vehicle.
Officers reportedly noticed an odor of alcohol on the man’s breath, and in turn, they had him perform field sobriety tests. They believed that the manner in which he completed those tests indicated that he was under the influence. It was also noted that the man’s driver’s license was apparently suspended. As a result, the man is currently facing charges for DUI and driving on a suspended license.
Even if individuals feel that drunk driving charges are unwarranted, they must still follow the legal proceedings associated with addressing the allegations. Drivers who have been charged in Tennessee may want to ensure that they understand the specific allegations brought against them and their options for creating and presenting their defenses. Consulting with experienced defense attorneys could help concerned parties determine what strategies could work best for their individual cases.
