Criminal defense info may help former NFL player Derrick Mason
Individuals may be wise to remember that there are two sides to every story. For this reason, anyone accused of a crime has the opportunity to defend him or herself against allegations. Often, a meaningful criminal defense can play an important role in legal proceedings, and parties who have had accusations brought against them undoubtedly want to ensure that they understand what defensive routes are open to them.
One man in Tennessee may soon be exploring his options after recently being taken into custody. Reports stated that former NFL player Derrick Mason allegedly had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, which led to her calling police. Apparently, the woman called at approximately 9:30 a.m., and when police arrived at the scene, they found the woman in a distressed state.
The woman claimed that Mason hit her and grabbed her neck after she tried to end their relationship. The woman reportedly had bruises, a red mark and a scratch. The man was not on the premises when police arrived, but a warrant was obtained for his arrest. The man turned himself in, and he is currently facing charges for felony aggravated assault and vandalism.
Any type of accusation relating to violence can greatly harm a person’s reputation. If a conviction for such allegations comes about, that individual could also face serious consequences. In order to address such charges, parties may wish to consult with knowledgeable Tennessee attorneys to determine what criminal defense options would best suit their particular circumstances. Having this information may allow those accused to feel more confident as they make important decisions.
